Fall color tour - Part 5

Friday morning we continued our drive along the coast heading for Gloucester, MA.

 An elaborate witch.

 This resort had beautiful landscaping.
Had to stop at this store. Unbelievable assortment of candy. You name it and they had it. Candy stocked from floor to ceiling with narrow aisles.
On route 95 heading towards Gloucester
This was the first traffic backup we had the whole trip and it made us change our plans. Instead of heading towards Gloucester we decided to head twards home! Go West Go West!!
So wee took 495 to route 2 and headed across Massachusetts heading for Friday night stay in Leominster, MA. Some of the sights along the way.

After church and potluck at the SDA church in Leominster we changed clothes and headed West on route 2 towards North Adams, MA then turned south on route 7 at Williamstown, MA. These are some of the sights along this stretch of our trip.

After sunset we came across a 4 Brothers Pizza at Hillsdale, NY on highway 23. Very good pizza. At this point we have decided to go south and pick up highway I-70 near Breezewood, PA and head for Rockville, IN and stay Monday night at Turkey Run campground.
Saturday night we found another KOAat Saugerties, NY that had a vacant spot where we could park and sleep in the Pilot INN.
Sunday morning we are heading for next night stop at Dayton, OH

Sunday night just pulling in to Dayton, OH
Early Monday morning we are heading for Rockville , IN and covered bridge festival.
Sculptured tree to make room for passing traffic.
Stopped at Turkey Run campground and miracle of miracles they had an empty campsite for Monday night.
Fran got her shopping fill n Monday as we covered all three towns that usually takes us a couple of days.

They repaired the suspension bridge after it was damaged by flood waters.

Must have been all that shopping that made her strong.
Our campsite was in the woods under a walnut tree so during the night the walnuts would drop onto our car. Sounded like someone set off a stick of dynamite next to our car. Thankfully no dents or cracked windshields.

Tuesday morning we headed for home.

 Back in Michigan
The Pilot Inn safely back in the garage after 3845 miles. God is so good.

There is beautiful color around the Berrien Springs area as well. Here are some pictures I took after we got back from our tour f the East.

Glorious colour right there at home... you could have avoided all the driving. :)
