The Manley family leave for Lebanon

March 7th, 2012 Lori, Brian, Cheyenne, and Tanner headed for O'Hare airport in Chicago for their flight to Beirut Lebanon. There Brian will be heading up the outreach program to the Muslims in the newly formed Middle East Mission. Lori will continue working for International Children's Care. Tanner will be working on his school work online with Village Adventist School here in Berrien while Cheyenne will complete grade 9 through Griggs Home Study program.

All their luggage plus a large pallet of boxes they shipped out of Chicago are all in the trailer. All their carry-on items are in the back of Grandpa's Pilot.

Brian was concerned that the little trailer could carry all that stuff. We made it and the pallet was delivered by 2:00 pm and then we ate at Sweet Tomato before going to O'Hare. They got checked in by 7:00 pm and were to leave at 9:30. The flight went to Ammon, Jordan, arriving at 17:20 Jordanian time (a 10.5 hour flight.) After a 3 hour lay over they were to arrive in Beirut, Lebanon at 21:30 (a 1 hour flight). We are all praying that everything arrives safely; people and belongings.

Tanner Manley violin recital

On December 1st Tanner gave a violin recital in which he played Grandma's favorite piece, "Meditation of Thais" by Massent. He did an excellent performance that all in attendance enjoyed very much.

Very impressive pose don't you think? Course Grandpa could be a little biased.

There was also a group performance in which all of the students played.

Fall 2011

Just finished our Fall display. Thanks to the farmers for leaving some corn stalks behind and for lots of bull rushes and tall grass along Michigan highways all we had to buy were the pumpkins.

Fall is here and can snow be far behind? My best season of the year is Fall eh.

Rachel and Allison Piano Recital

On Saturday, September 17th we were invited to hear Rachel and Allison perform a variety of pieces played on an electronic keyboard. They have been taking piano lessons for 3 years and their teacher decided to have them perform outside for family and friends. Allison and Rachel are the daughters of Daryl and Tammy McMullen and of course two of our great grandkids.

This is the program. You can see there were 5 fellow musicians who performed with them.

Allison was responsible for organizing the program including developing invitations and program. Good job Alli.

Friends and family brought heir lawn chairs and enjoyed a picnic lunch before the musicians performed.

Rachel played 5 pieces. She appeared very much at ease and did a great job on all her pieces.

Allison performed two pieces and again she did a great job.

Abby Callender, a close friend of Rachel and Allison, also performed a piece. She did a great job as well.

This is the piano Instructor helping Abby get setup to play.

All the kids did a great job and we enjoyed fine food as well as great music.

Great Grandma Mary Grier

While I was sitting by Mary's bed side I noticed this figure in the kleenex. Sitting in the right position the kleenex made the image that looked like an Angel.

August 4, 2011 we lost Great Grandma Mary to that old enemy called death. But Jesus will have the last say in the matter as when He comes the second time, He will shout with a loud voice and Mary will wake from her sleep to life eternal. What a glorious morning that will be. Even so come Lord Jesus.
